Osteopathic manual therapy (OMT) is a unique and holistic approach to healthcare that distinguishes itself from traditional therapeutic massage, physical therapy, and chiropractic treatments.
Unlike traditional massage therapy, which primarily focuses on relaxation and alleviation of muscle tension, OMT is a more comprehensive treatment targeting the musculoskeletal system, incorporating techniques to manipulate muscles, joints, and fascia.
This all-encompassing approach aims to address not only the symptoms but also the underlying causes of pain and discomfort, thus promoting overall well-being and better long-term outcomes for patients.
I began my journey toward Manual Therapy when I became a believer through personal experience. I worked as a package handler for 16 years destroying my body, specifically my back. After two back surgeries, expensive injections, and thousands of dollars in physical therapy, nothing improved my quality of life. A friend of mine recommended I try a Manual Therapist. Within a few appointments, I noticed a difference and continued to invest in this method of healing rather than what I had tried previously.
All my life, I have been drawn to energy systems and became a certified Reiki Master in 2007. I continued my education in this field learning Native American Medicine, Kriya Yoga and Meditation, and earning Seichim Master Certification. When Manual Therapy helped me so much, I took a class to see if it was something I was any good at. My first class felt very natural, and I began to pursue the path toward practicing Manual Therapy. I wanted to help others the way I had been helped.
My methods of treatment are NOT typical relaxation techniques. I approach treatment using a combination of manual osteopathic therapies including physical manipulation, stretching, and massage techniques to increase joint mobility, relieve muscle tension, and enhance blood and nerve supply to help the body’s own healing mechanisms.
A holistic, integrated approach to restoring the body to its proper function.
Manual therapy treatments incorporate many modalities to treat interconnected systems and structures.

Reiki is a Japanese spiritual healing technique in which practitioners can help the body heal itself through touch. Reikie is the process of giving a client more life energy for healing of both physical and emotional ailments.
Clients are fully clothed for appointments, and practitioners lightly rest their hands, or hover them, over various parts of the body where energy is said to the most.
The hand positions are designed to cover three main areas: major organs, major chakras, and major meridians. Often patiens tend to fall into a trancelike state.

The Perrin Technique™ is based on Dr. Perrin's theory that different stress factors, whether physical, allergies, emotional or infections, lead to an overstrain of the sympathetic nervous system.
Although it is know for being the system that helps us in times of danger and stress, often referred to as the "Fight or Flight" system, the sympathetic nervous system is important in controlling blood flow and the normal functioning of all the organs of the body such as the heart, kidney, and the bowel.
We know it is vital for healthy lymphatic drainage. In (chronic pain) sufferers due to myalgic encephalitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS), as well as fibromyalgia and long COVID, the sympathetic nervous system will have been placed under stress for many years before the onset of the signs and symptoms.
This stress may be of a physical nature due to postural strain or an old injury, it may be emotional, or environmental such as pollution, or it may be due to stress on the immune system due to infection or allergy.
Further investigation has led to a probable cause of this nervous system overload being a build-up of toxins in the fluid around the brain and the spinal cord. Some of the poisons caused by infection or inflamation in the head or spine flow through channels from the brain into the lymph ducts of the head, face, and neck. The toxins are also meant to drain down the spinal cord and out into the lymph ducts lying around theh spine.
In a ME/CFS (fibromyalgic and long COVID) sufferer, there is a backflow of these normal drainage points which leads to further toxicity and dysfuction of the central nervous system. This leads to all the many symptoms we see in people experiencing chronic pain.
